Johnson Farms Plants & pumpkins
This is our favorite Missouri pumpkin patch! Johnson Farms in Belton, MO has everything you want in a Midwest orchard experience. Apples are available from late August through October at the 5,000 tree apple orchard. You will pay for admission to the farm and then you’re able to enjoy the dozens of kid-friendly activities like a corn pit, bounce houses, outdoor play place, yard games, and more. You can take a tractor ride out to the orchard and pay for whatever you decide to pick. I highly recommend the season pass so you can enjoy the apple, sunflower, pumpkin, and fall season.

Taylor Family Orchard, Liberty
Located in Liberty, MO, Taylor Family Orchard is a u-pick fruit orchard with varieties of peaches, apples, blackberries, and raspberries. Apples are available from late July through October. It is typically only open on Saturdays and Sundays during the season, but it has free entry. A straightforward countryside orchard, perfect for apple picking with the family! A Northland favorite - Weston Red Barn Farm is open to the public for apple picking starting Labor Day weekend until September. Stop by the apple porch or the country store to grab a basket before you head to the orchard. Pre-picked apples are also available for sale if you prefer to not venture out into the orchard. There is no general admission fee, but on fall weekends you can purchase hayrides, corn maze admission, pony rides, and more.

Weston, Missouri is known for it’s beautiful fall foliage and small town charm. You’ll want to visit Weston Orchard and Vineyard for apples between August and October. Your admission ticket includes access to the orchard, play zones, hay-rack rides, and the Cider Barn. They make amazing apple cider you’ll have to try out!

🍏Kansas Apple Orchards
Apple season will begin at Cider Hill Family Orchard in August and continue until November. This is one of the best, free-entry orchards in the Kansas City metro! We took a field trip here for my son’s school and had the best time. The donuts are incredible! Grab a wagon, fill up bags full of apples, and create some fun family memories.

This family farm south of Kansas City has wonderful u-pick options almost all year around. Apple season at Gieringer’s Family Orchard starts in mid-August and lasts until October, featuring multiple varieties of apples. You can also enjoy some kids’ activities, a store with homegrown and local produce, and a beautiful country setting. U-pick admission is $3.50 per person and free for ages 2 and under.
